Default Best Spark Plugs for the SC300

60,000 mile maintenance time! Looking to keep my '97 SC300 a top performer. I wanted to see what people thoughts were on spark plugs. I know the Denso Iridium's will be just fine, but are there any other brands that will increase performance. Also, any other performance mod recommendations to do at this time would be appreciated. Please let me know.

If you're going to turbo it or put nitrous on it, go with copper plugs.

ngk 3334 if I'm not mistaken.

28 gap.

Hey Cwiz,

Can you fetch the exact part number? I need some good ones for my turbo setup and at $25 each I don't want to buy the wrong ones. How much did these help performance. Also, anything else you suggest adding to a car with a Stage II toyomoto? What wires do you use?

Thx

Its an NGK 3330

I think the plug itself reads:
BPR7ES
B=Thread diameter 14mm
P=projected insulator type
R=resistor
7=heat rating
E=thread reach
S=firing end construction 2.6mm center electrode

anywhere beteen .28 and .30 on the gap.

Turboimports.com has them for $2.50 each

Default Platinum vs Iridium

As far as performance, what is better Platinum or Iridium? Does any one have any evidence or performance data on these plugs?

What about changing wires or ignition system? Would anyone recommend this as a performance upgrade and/or recommend a part?

If you're staying NA, the 3330 plugs aren't going to help a bit.
The only advantage the platium/iridium plugs have is longevity.
The Torquemaster plugs have shown lots of promise for increased power in NA applications.
