Possible boost issue?
Hey guys
So i have 1991 Soarer with the 1JZ-GTE twin turbo and im noticing something that seems a bit off.
I am not sure if this is an issue with the motor or my boost gauge but the car stock was usually hitting around 9-10lbs when boosting but now throughout the gears id be lucky to hit that. But my first gear when hitting boost doesnt even move the needle on the gauge, 2nd gear it maybe hits 4lbs, 3rd gear about 5-6lbs and 4th and 5th seems to get up to 9lbs.
so, i am not sure. Maybe a loose connection with my intercooler piping, vacuum lines, crappy boost gauge?
The car still seems to be pulling hard and i hear the turbos going.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Zack

boost leak...
Run a compressor to your intake....compress air into your system to replicate what your turbos do. Check your boost gauge and dont go over 20lbs unless you have the sudden urge to change your front main seal. Listen for leaks and use soapy water to pinpoint exact location(s) of leak and fix it accordingly. You will have multiple leaks.
Turbo cars ALWAYS have leaks and they rob you of power and always cause issues. Do what I said and it will make the car run much better....

hey dont mean to thread jack but i might have a similar problem
i have the same car except its auto. im running only 6lbs boost when its supposed to be at least 8 or 10?
i got custom 3" exhaust done a week ago, and the boost didnt even go up slightly when its supposed to.
is this a boost leak problem as well?
