i swapped a manual into a 2000 sc300. it works fine.

We know it will operate fine but there will be a code, check engine light from the auto ecu looking for the auto trans. we would like to be able to avoid that. some people cant past inspection,emission whatever with it on.


i for one can pass with it on here. but would like my light to function properly. i dont wanna have to scan for codes all the time to see if something is up.

yeah i pretty much trying to find out the same thing. i heard dr. tweak made a transmission simulator, but i'm not sure how all that will work out. the other thing i thought is using the ECU from VVT-i Supra, 2JZ-GE of course. Does anyone know if that will work out? It seems like it would.

because '98's all came with automatics and ALSO introduced the vvti engine; there isn't an ecu for manual AND vvti (as was mentioned previously).

Okay, well, since this has been bumped....what about vvt-i 6-speed supras? could you not use those ECUs? anyone have insight on this, because if i can't do a swap without a CEL constantly running, that just puts a damper on my plans for my car.

I dont see why you wouldnt be able to swap it.

If all it'll do it throw a CEL and not put it in limp mode or change how the car runs, just put some electrical tape over it and call it a day. lol
