[QUOTE=S14eva1;5985411]I owned a 98 SC300 converted to 5spd manual....but it had a soarer 1jz/r154
yes you did BUT your not using a N/A 98-2000 vvt-i ECU your using a 1jz soarer ECU, hence no lights.
we are talking about on a 98-2000 sc. takin the auto tranny out and replacing it with a manual. the ECU will through a code because it doesnt sense the tranny. car will run fine and dandy. there will just be a check engine light. BUT some people cant get there car inspected with the light on. <-----problem for some. we need a solution, EDIT: they need a solution. i found mine. canceled Na-T and got a 2jzGTE swap.
By the way nice SC. Sounds good.

That wont solve the problem of OBDII cars throwing a CEL.
For the SC300, I THINK that the 97 and 98 Supra NAs could be had with an NA VVTI/w58 combo. I could be wrong there, but if they were, then it is possible that with some wiring g-wizardry, you could make the Supra stuff work in an OBDII SC300.
For the SC400, there are no OBDII compliant options.

well i heard you could as someone mentioned in a similar post a while back, but i believe the problem would be wiring it up correctly to the SC, which be expensive and tedious. as for the year, i'm not entirely sure myself
