Default light issue; cornering lights - 97 fogs - hids

so i posted this on the lighting section. got no help...

okay so i have a 92 sc300, and many know that the bottom lights are not fogs, they are cornering lights. [1156 bulbs]

so when i did the 92-97 body conversion, i modified my harness to accommodate the 97 fog harness [h3 bulbs] as well modified my city lights switch to my fog light switch through a relay.

then later on, i installed h3 hid 35w yet alone didnt light up. ive been running my high beam harness as my fogs for now untill i can solve this, i will be getting 55w hids now and would like to keep my fog lights switch as my fogs, and my high beams switch as my high beams.

is there a way i can fix this? modify the wiring? resistor? fuse? so that i can use hid fogs on my fogs switch.

thanks in advanced.

on mine i have one relay and im using a lead from one if the city lights. ...
bosch relay, 30 goes to a constant fused 12v, ground the 86, 85 goes to positive on the city light, 87 goes to the positive for your fogs. one relay is fine for both lights. 87a is nothing.

Yeah what cleanshots said. And You might need an HID relay kit. i know some people are running theres without it. but some of us have had to use them. sometimes there is not enough signal to ignite the box and the relays use a 12v source straight from the battery.

Thats of course if your wiring is correct.
have they ever worked i cant understand if you meant they worked with regular h3 bulbs and now youve went to HID and you cant get them to come on?

i can use regular halogen h3 bulbs just fine, but once i out h3 hids they dont turn on. i may not be getting enough power to my ballast so ill have to double check with my relay and let you guys know.

u might not get enough power to power the ballast, it requires lots of power to fire those baby. trying wire it to ur headlights and see if it works or not, that way u will know if it HID kit problem or not.

i already been using it to my highbeams... so i know my hids are fine, cause im using them currently.

issue is, i want to use my city light switch, as my fogs, that are using my hids.

I agree with horent135, it might just be the power not getting to them.

guys, i was able to use h3 halogen bulbs. then when i installed hids onto it, i guess just seems not to be enough "power" to fire the ballast up.

Post Hid

Buy this cut the ends and solder them to h3 bulbs. Install. Done.

It uses power directly from the battery. Enough to ignite the ballast.
