Default my car shifts into 2nd too quickly???

ok, i have a 92 sc400. when taking off, its shifts into second gear pretty quickly. very annoying. i remember reading something about adjusting the TPS counter clockwise, but i did that and now it jerks when i let off the gas. any suggestions? maybe increasing the tranny line pressure? read about that as well, something about 2 screws? sorry if im posting in the wrong area though guys. thanks

I know what your talking about. You wanna rip it out of somewhere and so you mash the gas, BUT at like 3200 RPM the stupid thing shifts into second and there goes ALL your thunder. It happens to ALL of them. The trick is you have to do one of 2 things.

1)Make sure PWR is on.
2)Really mash it down hard if your in ECT mode.

Adjusting the TPS was probably not a good idea. I have heard many stories of bad outcomes from doing that since it was not meant to be an adjustable part by the owner. It does indeed build or retard transmission line pressure. Stock is the best setting for it.

ok thanks man. i know i need to get the TC from Dragon. just dont really have the time to do that just yet. and another example....i dont normally roll around doing power stalls or donuts...but, when i hold the brake and mash on the gas, the tires are barely spinning and RPMs stay fairly low for about 15 seconds. its weird. this is my 2nd sc4 and i never had these problems with my other one. but my top end is amazing, its just freakin weird and pissin me off today. thanks

Sorry to be off topic, but I see you're from Oklahoma. Are you in Tulsa or Oklahoma City?

hey kira...tulsa, oklahoma. ok, i figured out my problem tonight. earlier today i did some tinkering around. did a bunch of stuff actually, but heres what fixed my issue. my rear tires were getting pretty bald...so bald in fact that the last little burnout i did today after tinkering, that i noticed they were getting very sticky...so i swapped the fronts to the rear, BAM!!! car no longer shifts into 2nd prematurely. these are the Falken tires btw. so anyways, took it out tonight and now its doing what it should. guessing those tires being so sticky were catching ground too much as my Rpms rose. but anyways, thats my 2 cents for the evening
