Update:
AcleanSC4 and I met up this weekend and we discussed the taillights. 92-94 vs 95-96. We looked at eachothers cars and decided to go with the trade. We had to trade the harnesses but we both got the lights swapped easily. AcleanSC4 had a pearl white car with 92-94 taillights and I had a onyx with the 95-96 lights. When we looked at the cars after the swap we decided that both cars looked better now. The 95-96 lights work out so much better on the white than the black and the 92-94 look much sharper on the black. So I guess it all depends on what color your car is as to which lights are best.

Yeah, the whole 97+ conversion looks pretty cool, but I think I'm going to keep my 92 front end and add on the 97+ sideskirts.
Hermosa...thanks again for doing the trade, I love EM! Anyone who also plans on putting 95-96 taillights on a 92-94, you will notice that your blinkers will be blinking much faster.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Sorry.
I know this is an old thread. But does anyone else want to trade his/her 95-96 taillights with my mint 92-94 taillights?
I really like the way the taillights on 95-96 cars look but I could not even find a used set for sale anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Jon

Something about the bands in the lights bug me. Now the front grill and side skirts are a different story but the 97 taillights, naaaaaaa. Anyone agree or disagree?

Best taillights for the SCs are the first gens ??? Did you mean 2nd gen ??? First gen tail lights would have been the 92-94 right ??
i really don't like the newest gen's because the trim in and around the lights looks cheap to me. I'd still trade though, because i'd eliminate the trim when they got here.

Well the 92 tails are cool
Hmm I have a 92 SC300 and its that wierd RED CHerry Color, the 92 tails actually go well with the color of the car, extremely class. The Amber of the tail lights blend very well witht he color.

The original rear lamps as fitted to my 92 TT (and my V8) are a work of art, they emulate the gracefull lines and curves of the car, I really dont think they did us any favours with the later iterations which look cheap & plasticy, even worse are the "cleared" lamps, this is not some modern Eurocrap car.
The only lighting issue I have is the inclusion of the orange cover in the front headlamps as it spoils the looks & the useless side facing "turning" lamps mounted in the front cover (replaced with fog/driving lamps on later models).

i think toyota/lexus meant for the turn signals to hyperblink to let you know that you have a bulb that is burnt out. so when you install the newer taillights, you are missing 2 of the bulbs to complete the circut, so the car thinks a bulb is out..........then you have a hyperblinker!
