Default '98 tail light

Here is a picture of a '98 tail light. (Wow - I got to wash my car more often!)

I agree, I like the 95-96 tails. Especially after they have been cleared like what Tony (A clean SC) did on the lights. Great job Tony!!

I also agree with the ONE- the last gen tails look cheap with that aweful silver or chrome trim- really cheapens the look of the lights!!

Has anyone cleared their lights and performed a DIY with LED upgrade?

I like the 95-96 overall, but at night with the solid red band on the top, it is no competition that the 95-96 are the best. End of story.

Default What the different SC taillights look like

Hey all -

I got curious as to what the differences in appearance were with the later SC taillights.

From what I've gathered, there are 3 different taillights - 92-94, 95-96, and 97-00.

Doing some digging on the forum, it seems to be a bolt-in upgrade - I read of a '92 owner and a '95 owner swapping the lights. You would probably just need the taillights and the bulbs/harness. I imagine the harness from the bulbs ends in one big connector for easy removal.

Anyhow, here's a breakdown of pics of the different lights. Thanks Ebay!

First up, '92-94 taillights...

Finally, the '97-00 taillights. Hopefully this will help others that had the same question I did .

I'm not sure which lights I like best - it's a tough call. I'll probably have to see more in person.

Default My personal favs...

I'd have to say I like the arrangement of the 95-96, but I like the style of my 92s... I don't like the "lines" in the plastic on the 95/96. If I could have my way, I'd get the tail lights from clearcorners, but they wouldn't have the plastic lines in the clear part, and they wouldn't have two red spots in the lower section. They would be lit more like the upper portion, with strips of leds.

OLT should start building us cheaper tail lights, interior lights, etc, all with LEDs!!!

I'd like to get a set of those angel eyes too, but not with the painted black reflectors... I don't think it would look too good on a white SC4.

As far as upgrading the tail lights to 97+, a kit I saw offered... said you needed a plug in module... probably just to stop the hyper blinking, I'd imagine...

Hmmm, I just noticed on the 97 and up SC's, the SC300/400 label has been moved to the right hand side on the trunk lid instead of in the center.
