Default Best taillights for the SCs are the first gens

IMO I think the first gen taillights are the cleanest looking. Rather than get my SC300 a 97 taillight conversion I am going to upgrade them to the 92-94 lights. Something about the bands in the lights bug me. Now the front grill and side skirts are a different story but the 97 taillights, naaaaaaa. Anyone agree or disagree?

yeah, I kinda agree...i think the 95-96 taillights are the best.

If anyone with a 95-96 SC is unhappy with their lights and would like to trade...LET ME KNOW!!!

i like how the lights on the 92 look during the day but at night when the lights are on they dont look that good to me cuz they only have one tiny light on each side. it's the exact opposite for the 95's i dont like how they look during the day cuz the color pattern doesn't look good but at night when the bulbs are on, they look better. Cant recall what the 97's look like on at night but i like the design the best on those models.

How clean are your taillights? You may have found a trade.

if you like the whole world to know that you are making a turn, then the 92 lights are a good guess.

yes a matter a fact i do. I find that when someone is riding to close to u the best thing to do is turn on ur blinker. even if u dont expect to make a turn. then they'll be riding behind u thinking WTF??? is this guy turning or what?

I have the 92-94's & I really don't like them very much. They just dont look sleek or cool to me. They are soo unbearably simple that it makes the back of car look too plain. I guess it's mainly because of the large amount of amber used (can't stand the amber) IMO, 97-00 are the nicest, & 95-96 come in 2nd. I'll eventually do something w/ my tails, not sure if i want to tint them to a degree or upgrade to 97's (i know practically everyone here would say to get the 97's, but i like to be original )

Just my take on the matter at hand!

I like the '92-'94's better. I agree with hermosa on the silver bands in the '97 ones, kinda takes away from it. But I also agree with forngoods on the light emitted from the '92's at night. But it's not like it bothers me THAT much to where I want to drop $400 on taillights (which i have and are working fine), when I could get something that I really want (HIDs) [which i don't have].

honestly, I think the newer tail lights are the best... Im not sure what silver bands you guys are talking about... I have chrome bands.... Which is a plus ( Lexus = Luxury ).. Also I have a 94 and after installing the new ones... I got free hyper blinkers.... Theres only one bulb to signal so it hyper blinks like crazy....

How do you make your bulb blink like that do you have to rewire it or buy a special bulb?

Default pull a light out...

The system uses a pulses faster if you pull a globe out. If you want to test this, pull out one of the indicator globes from the front (Easiest to get to) and then turn your indicators on. The rear should flash like it was on steroids.

same as said before just pull a signal bulb out from each side of the 1st gen lights.... For me, all i did was plug in the 97+ assy and it hyperblinked by itself... because they only have one set of signals on each side... same as pulling off one from each side on the other ones.
