So, Im kinda excited just finished my first mod to my new 1JZ SC300, and my first real upgrade to any car (Besides putting an intake on my old altima). Thought I would share this with the CL community as my official hello.
Anyway I installed..............

Mishimoto aluminum radiator and Hayden 1677 transmission cooler. Bought the car with a leaky radiator and some of other problems and im taking care of them one by one. Tomorrow Ill be handing the car off to a shop to install an ac compressor, drier, and expansion device. Got my GPS double din in the mail (headunit didnt work). Just put some nice Continental tires 245/40/18 all around the car. Its a work in progress.
Back to the installation....
luckily my car came with the tt fan shroud so no modifications had to be done![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

And what took me the longest time, mounting and plumbing the transmission cooler. I put it in front of the condenser and routed the tubing around the condenser along the intercooler piping (if that makes any sense). Tried to do it like xxsc400xx tutorial but my cooler was too big and didnt fit with the Power steering cooling.

I had no troubles getting the radiator in. It just slid right in place and I reattached all the hoses. Looks pretty good in the engine bay.

All in all im pretty happy with the installation. I forgot to buy toyota red coolant so Im running on distilled water and whatever mixture is in the engine.
Still I have a question. When I tried flushing the coolant, I didnt know whether to leave the radiator cap on or off after I filled the radiator up with distilled water and had the engine running. When the cap was off (I was trying to let air bubbles out) the radiator would continually spit water out in big splashes, and it wouldnt stop until enough water evaporated so that it couldnt splash out anymore. When I filled the radiator and capped it (didnt let any air bubbles out), the engine temp raised almost to the max! So what should I do..... help please and thanks

wow looks nice...so the TT fan shroud drops right in? i might have to take notes...
As for bleeding the coolant, get a funnel that fits snuggly in the cap locations and fill it with coolant, keeping it over filled. This is so bubbles can work it's way out and quickly get replaced with coolant. Keep a rag on the top of the funnel in case a big bubble pops out and makes a mess (i've seen it happen, not a pretty site). Also, make sure you have the heat on full blast while it's running and jack the front end up to help with the bleeding process.
