Hello All,
Just got my leather seat kit from Eric at www.leatherseats.com
Going to install them over the holiday weekend. (Hopefully Hermosa comes over to help
)
For info about these covers go to this older thread....
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=17971
I will try to post pics step by step.
Preliminary look at the color, quality, and install. Looks great, matches perfectly (Sandstone color to match 92 tan SC interior), and the install looks straight forward.
The 8 motor massage option is the only tricky part. It requires you to map out and carefully cut out placements for the indivdual motors. This looks REALLY easy but will take some time to work out the placement. Controllers and wiring look as easy as a pair of foglights.. we shall see.

Okay... it is 9:30PM... gonna take a rest to tackle the massagers and heat install on the fronts.
Took about 1:30 to do the fronts. 20mins add'l to pull all 4 seats out.
Let me know what you think so far. All the wrinkles you see in the pics came right out after I re-installed them and sat down for the TEST.

Looking good PCMW. Just a word of warning on those massagers. You may want to pad those pretty well. I talked to people I know who have had them and they all complained that after a bit the massagers kind of seem to stick closer to the surface and get annoying and even hurt over long distances. Perhaps if they were covered by some padding and then some mesh. But that's my proactive opinion.
BTW tint job I got looks pretty good. I also got exhaust today. This weekend I get rims and tires and next weekend I get Eibach springs designed for a NA Supra.

To install the massagers it says to cut a 1" deep cavity that fits the massager motor. If you are saying that they are pretty strong, then maybe I will double stick some denim or foam-lined material over the top before adding the leather back on?
Hmm...did your contacts have the "Relaxor" brand?
Thanks Hermosa

They didn't specify but I believe that this might happen to any massager given the nature of the movement. Anything that vibrates with weight on it will slowly compact any padding and possibly break down fabric. Just thought I'd spread the word of warning before you have to strip the skins off the seats again to adjust them.

I will install them...test with old leather layed across seats...then adjust. I will take pics and report back on the progress..
Maybe I can use a piece of thin foam to cover them up in the effort to numb them a bit.
They have remote controls so you can shut them off...

Go PCMW!
Thanks for keeping us posted on the progress. I was going to take it to a local leather shop, but after seeing this review, I am very interested in doing it myself. Keep it coming!

Ryan,
Thanks for the encouragement. I will watch the fireworks all day and work on this project. Nothing like getting it perfect the first time.
I think this would be a 3 hour install if I didn't go with the Massage units.
Thanks again,
MW

Well...it is Moron-proof. I would say that if you can count to 100, memorize the alphabet, and squeeze a pair of pliers 125 times. You are SET.
The kit really is easy. The only problem I would for-see is if someone else took the covers off for you and then you were left with the solo task of putting the new ones on. The trick is....when you take the old ones off, it becomes self-explanatory how to reassemble.
I would rate this job easier than installing a new set of speakers in your doors. Not much, but it is easier.
Here are the new vs. old front seats with the Relaxor kit. The massage kit is a pain to install, however, my wife and I think it is the greatest. I will follow this up with step-by-steps of the massager install and covers.
