Default 2JZ and 1UZ interchangable parts

Anyone know what are some of the parts that are interchangable between 2JZ-GTE and 1UZ-FE. ie. Rods, pistons, valve rings, valves and Head bolts. The market for 1UZ is very limited. Most of the above items need to be cutom made. I was just wondering if above items are interchangable between the two wonderful engines.

If that are interchangeable, i dont have to re-invent the wheel twice.

Thanks

David

Default Uhhh...

I'd doubt that the 1UZ and 2JZ would share much in common. The 1JZ and the 2JZ would have much more resemblance as the 2JZ was a revised version of the 1JZ... the specs (JDM form) are quite similar as well...

1JZGTE (non VVTi)
- 2.5 litres, 24v, DOHC, intercooled parallel twin turbo, restricted 280hp

2JZGTE (non VVTi)
- 3.0 litres, 24v, DOHC, intercooled sequential twin turbo, restricted 280hp

Default Yes...

The 2JZ is basically a redesigned larger version of the 1JZ (which was released some four years before the 2JZ).

They are similar in design, using a straight 6 twin turbo intercooled engine.

The main differences being that the displacement of the engines are different (1JZ = 2.5L, 2JZ = 3.0L) and the operation of the turbo system (1JZ = parallel, 2JZ = sequential).

The 1JZ also runs a lower boost level compared to the 2JZ (a stock JDM Soarer engine runs at 12.5PSI boost pressure (about 6.5PSI from each turbo), while a stock JDM Supra RZ system runs at 12.0PSI boost pressure from EACH turbo). The difference here is that the 1JZ should be the more efficient running engine (in stock form), as the 2JZ needs 11.5PSI more boost pressure to make the 280hp Japanese limit than the 1JZ, which only needs 12.5PSI to make the 280hp limit.

The 1JZGTE is also said to be a more revvier engine than the 2JZGTE (I dunno, may be due to the smaller engine CC??)

Default BTW...

In a magazine here in Australia, it states that the 1JZGTE is almost as strong as Nissan's infamous '26 (RB26DETT found in Godzilla).

There's a Soarer in Australia (MkI version though, the MZ10) that runs a 1JZGTE engine with the 5-speed manual, stock internals and puts out around 550hp (no bullshizz) so yeah, I dunno many engines this strong either.
