This adresses the airflow argument:
Hey Neal, whats up? I saw your post on the forums and how they were arguing with you on the theory of air flow. The air comes in through the front, goes around and under the engine, comes around the back, over the top of the enigine, and finally out the vent. Air can not come in the engine from the front and go straight up to the vent while the car is moving forward, its virtually impossible (laws of motion). Just thought that would help you out, but one of the main things is that the hood looks dam hot. I'm gonna try to get some pics from my customers with the hood on their supras for you. thanks

This vented hood works like a cowl hood. It sucks in air at high speeds and it's unusual form is meant for a lower profile (lower cod, higher top speed)---as opposed to a hoop scoop. It does not expel hot air, it only circulates air in the bay and let's in ambient air. Along with air, it lets in dust, dirt, rainwater, bugs, and anything else that will fit through the grille. Like anything, there are advantages to this hood as well as disadvantages.

Yeah, a no vent would be more popular. You have to think TRUE functionality and REAL WORLD application. Don't buy in the "Fast and Frivolous" way of thinking...

I want that hood, but I would like to see it at least come with a stopper that I can put in there for when I drive in the rain. If I had at least that, I'd buy it.

I was thinking about getting a custom hood scoop for my car like that carbon fiber one. But isn't the rain a major problem falling on the engien, are they only good for show?

CF Hood style (Vent or OEM)
When I first spoke to Brendan about this project, he said his manufacturer was willing to make the vent and/or OEM style, so there's really no need for debate :-) Brendan said he needed 12 people to commit to have them made before it was cost effective to setup the manufacturing casts. I didn't ask whether this meant 12 of EACH style, or 12 total. I will check and give you guys an update.
