Default 93 sc400 ac problems

Alright so i know theres probably tons of posts on ac problems but its 97degrees outside and dont have much time to search through. i have a 93 sc400 that stopped blowing cold air awhile ago so i recharged the system didnt work. charged it a coulpe more times still didnt work (this was all probably last year) finally gave in and brought it to lexus they fixed it worked for a couple of days then stopped working. looks like the compressor is not turning on. also replaced the heater control valve, doubt that has anything to do with it. thanks.

what exactly did lexus do to get it working temporarily, if you have air in the system it can cause it not to blow cold, the dryer not working can also cause it not to blow cold. the dryer takes all the moisture out of the system. you're right, the compressor wont engage if there is no freon. the compressor has pistons in it, and a pressure switch. if there is no freon pressure, the compressor wont come on or it would lock up. think of it like this, freon is to your compressor as oil is to your engine.

I am sure if you asked the dealer, you could find out.

go throw your vin into the my lexus system, if you took it to the dealership it should be recorded ont he maintenance history.

My ac problem was no freon because i had a compressor leak. Got it recharged to where it blew a cool 32*, still leaked but not fast enough to where i needed a recharged a few days later, its been good for a few months now,
