Default Polishing my hupty!

So the guy who had this car before me sold it to the devil(maaco) lol

I have to do something about this one stage paint ,its oxidized to crap. Actualy its so bad, it looks like someone had sanded it down .

So to work i went, but oh boy it was a mess!!! I had paint everywhere, the oxidation was caking everywhere. But it looks promising though. Check out the pics.

Here is the trunk finnished.

Difference between trunk and rear quarter

My beautifull wife

Check out the hood

Oh yeah

Seems like the oxidation is coming back already

My next step is satin can spray paint

No too shabby. The oxidation will come back quicker than you can buff it out again. I hope it lasts longer though. Good luck.

cant afford a real paint job i'm still fixing the problems with brakes and interior, plus saving money for 5 speed swap. So real paint is at the bottom of my list.

Theres something called the $50 dollar paint job. You should google it, and give it a try =). I have seen some DIY online that looked decent. Might still be better than what you have now.

Shouldn't you be able to prevent future oxidation by either a really good wax or just a simple clear coat?

Hmm that shouldn't happen with a good clearcoat. Many factory toyota colors in the 90s were a single stage paint and hold up great overtime. There's definitely a cure to this that won't involve a total repaint, just have to have the right stuff
