That price is ridiculous. The buyer will have that car for the next 5 years at that price.

As for a 5-spd swap, unless you source the parts and do the work yourself, I don't think it is worthwhile. You don't get your money back out of it.

Just be patient and the right car will come along.

That's how it is in my area. I got lucky and found mine for $5,000 with low miles and in mint condition. What you will probably have to do is go to Florida or another state where SC's are everywhere and buy one there.

I agree with this. Out of state is the way to go if there aren't any around.

go for it, most of us on here drive beat high mileged scs, which we paid few grands for, upon inspection if that car is in mint fresh cond, pay the fella the asking price and seal the deal, remember you get what you pay for, if it was beat heap then the selller wouldnt be asking all that, he took good care of it and thus the price, , cheap bastards arque all you want but mint unmolested all original 5 spd sc is well worth the 8k

Haha, that's what i was thinking. It has those low miles because this was one of the guys weekend/summer cars. He's owned numerous corvettes and other sports cars. Not sure if he beat the helll out of it or not. I guess i'm going to try working down the price and if that doesn't work, i play the waiting game again.

I agree with this. If you are strictly looking for 5-speed SC and no automatics, get one that is already a 5-speed. It can be expensive for a transmission swap. Keep in mind that this could be one of the few chances you will have to buy an SC like that even though the price is high. Since the owner has a few Corvettes, ask him to throw one in since he's asking for so much.
