Default Wanna get in the game, is this worth it?

Okay, i guess i can say this is my first thread, since i've joined in September 2009. And ever since then, i've been wanting an SC. I recently came upon a 1994 Garnet Pearl SC300, 5-speed, with 84,000 miles. The seller is asking 8k firm. To me, i find this as a pretty good deal, considering it's an original 5-speed, and very low mileage. The interior i'd put as a B+, with minor rips in the front two seats and one noticeably large rip on the driver's bolster. The rear seats are flawless. What do you guys think? Since i figured you all would be the most educated in decisions like these.

Thanks in advance,
Carlo

Yeah, to me it sounded quite steep. I'll hopefully be able to work it down. How much do you guys think it's worth?

If you can get it down to $6,000, I'd say go for it. It also depends on rare SC's are in your area. SC's should be cheaper but if there are very few for sale within a decent vecinity, then they could ask almost anything.

Pass... expensive.. if it was a 97 5sp I would say thats doable. You can get one for 5k~ even with those low miles not worth it. Just wait for the right one.

That's a bit much for me. I purchsed my '92 garnett red 5speed with 134k for $4.7k and I thought that was on the higher end of fair.

I guess you should get it down to $5,000 judging by the other posts. I forgot that the 97's came with the 5-speed transmission. You might want to pass for now.

Alright, thanks guys. Yeah, SCs are hyper rare in my area, the only other one being a 1996 SC300 auto with 130k miles for $7k. Yeah, it's expensive, but i am trying to see how much a 5-speed swap would cost, and see if it justifies the price.

I got my 93 rhd 1jz 5spd with 97+ conversion and 18s and new paint for $8k.

I'm sure you can find a better deal or lower that price significantly.

id either hold off(i did and saved at LEAST 1000 and got one in better condition then the others i was looking at) or drive out of town maybe even state..if it saves you 2-3K it'll definitely be worth the trip.

Yeah definitely a high asking price. I've seen a couple local vvti sc400s for sale in the 8500 price range. I'd say with the low miles and a 5 speed, 5k would be the most I'd pay.

Ehh...i'm not going to jump the gun on some car, but it sure has been a frustrating few months. I've gone to NC, WV, MD, and even PA to check out SCs with sub-par results. I guess the only reason why i asked you guys is because this is the only one that i've seen that's got a manual tranny, and is also a five minute's drive away.

5k? I know this sounds weird, but that sounds really low.
