Default Replacing factory sub.....

So, my sub blew last night, and I have some questions.

1) all of the Lexus "Premium Sound Systems" use 10" woofers correct? (I dont even have a cd player, it seems odd that they would put a 10" sub with no cd player.....)

2) I think I wanna replace the 10", with a really nice free air 10", and run hella wattage into it. DO you guys have any recomendations on good woofers/amplifiers for this task? And where I could purchase them?

I would just suggest swapping a new free air 10" into the exsisting spot. If you want to amplify it, you are going to have a really hard time. Its a very complicated procedure...

An infinite baffle (free air) sub has enough problems with controlling the cone movement/overexcursion as it is, they're just not meant for 'hella wattage' (did you hear that lex400sc?). Try the JL 10IB4 and find yourself an amp that puts about 150-200 watts of clean power into an 8ohm mono load. You'll have to modify the oe 10" sub frame so that the JL will fit into it, do a search, I posted instructions.
