Okay, I have searched and seen a few things about the ecu causing the transmission to act crazy and shift from 1st or 2nd gear to OD while accelerating and so forth. I have also read the thread about sc400 money pit at https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...d-no-help.html and will check a few things he did there, but I doubt its the issue as it does change gears.
My issue is this, when the car is still semi-cold still and right at startup, the gear selector and the cluster shows no lights anywhere. Not drive, not neutral, not park, nothing. If I push up on the shifter a little bit it will light up park, but once I stop, it goes dead again. When I put into any gear it will not recognize that gear via the dash or shifter, but it will go into gear and move. When I am in drive, and leaving a dead stop it goes from 1st to OD, and sometimes neutral.
Now when the car is fully warmed up, all gears display properly and the car drives perfectly. I am curious if I should spend my money on an ecu to test it, or maybe change the park/neutral switch on tranny (which I think I have a spare), or if it could possibly be a tranny issue.
Specs on the car are: 117k, all stock.
Thanks in advance, and sorry if I missed any threads close to my question,
Ryan
