Default Looking for DIY Painting dashboard.

I just got my sc400 2 weeks ago, and I want to start off with simple painting projects, first I want to paint the dashboard trim around the shift stick and around the radio to black. I have searched for an hour looking for a DIY. Does anyone know what im supposed to do? What sandpaper, what paint? primer? banana? I don't know...

I have seen sc400's with the black interior already made with the black trim, I just want to do the same for my car.

What do you mean exactly from rough it up a bit? Do i strip off the current paint with sand paper? What spray adhesive should i get? What color sem paint am i going to look for to match the same black color on the black interior sc400's, do i need to spray layers of paint? I want this to look professionally done.

searching will answer all those questions in less than 5 minutes..yes you use sandpaper, no dont remove all the factory material unless you want to learn how to re-vinyl a dash. 3M adhesion promoter works great, and its not adhesive, just helps the process and aids in keeping the paint from rubbing off. yes you need to spray several coats, thin light even coats are better than a couple heavy ones.

simply sear SEM dye paint to find more specifics on the answers

I have been searching for an hour and I cant find a DIY anywhere in this forum. Talking about vinyl, I think mine is peeling, heres a picture.

(Removed Pic, too big, lazy to repost it up again)

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Does this mean I cant paint that area anymore? Is that the vinyl peeling? Does the vinyl have to be stripped before painting? I can just dig my fingers in there and peel off all the vinyl.

Did I do any good? Its still not finished, I still need to spray lacher (spell??) or w/e you call it, its the thing that gives you more shine to the plastic, mirror like shine, and smoothness.
