the v12 swap was done a few times their is a celica with one and he's spent over 15K on it already, and its still not done , probably a custom header to fit the sc, custom exhuast, custom engine mounts, custom drive shaft , if you can get a motor with both the engine ECU's then you wont need ecu's , otherwise its a monster swap, if you are lucky 5K for the motor set, and maybe 5k ish to get it done.... top secret built the v12 as a 1 off because i can project they spent over 100K in it on the supra... full built twin tt.... but the car never went very far from motor in..and running..

There are so man reasons for me not to do this swap but since the SC is just my project car, I'm really itching to do it. I still have more research to do. I'm still leaning toward it though.

If you have that much cash, then do it.

If you have the cash to do it, it'll be the sickest swap on an SC yet!

<------ Planning on doing one myself. Got a build thread just going this last week for the whole car itself. Its going to be a huge pain in the..... Not only do you need all the ecu's but a few other items, just to start, the chipped key and how are you going to convert the drive-by-wire? I plan on keeping the system and getting the whole pedal assy.

Keep me updated, and keep an eye on mine (will take a while, joining military so will be on hold for a bit)

I've been on Lextreme's website for the past 2 weeks trying to work it all out. I'm going to be keeping the drive by wire. It looks to be that I can use the DBW system from the newer GS's without a problem. I just have to double and triple check everything before I start this.

If you have money to **** away, there are STILL better choices of engine AND car to sink that kind of cash into.

Come on man. You have what, 30k posts? How old are you? Not trying to be rude, but of most people on forums now days, you would think a vet of a forum like such would understand that sometimes things as such are based on pref. and the ability to be different.

Sure, 2j swap can bring power to the table like no other, and the 1j can bring factory option (j-spec) to the table, and all other factory motors can be built very well for the kind of cash a 1gz swap could be completed for. I say whatever. I like to be different, build crazy project, if not just to be different. I have done many motor swaps, builds, and ect in the short amount of time I have been into cars. (11 years). I say let people do it, if you don't agree, move on and say good luck.

...and you'd think after being on the forum 5 years you'd know by now everybody has an opinion and "pref" and that's mine. So walk the walk.
