ok, jsyk, IF I get an SC, I will probably find one with a dead engine and swap a 2JZ-GTE in, immedietly, so dont bother edumacating me about the V8 or any of that. I'll soak the info up with time

With the right modifications, an SC300 can be turned into a nice sportscar... right now I think of them as being grand tourers, but with a turbo kit or engine conversion and some suspension mods thrown in you should have a car that is a good all 'round performer.

Depends what you want in a car...
The SC is the best comprimise in luxury/sport for the buck. The suspension and chassis is simply put, an extended Supra Chassis (Supra MkIV is called JZA80, and SC is JZZ30/31) so they pretty much come off the same assembly line. Alot of supra parts bolt on to the SC, including suspension parts, control arms, sway bars, brakes, etc. Just that the supra starts off with a more sporting setup by having harder bushes and thicker sways than the SC. I've got poly-urethane bushes on my car at the moment, and I can say that It's very close to the handling of a supra. Just that the rear of the car rolls a bit more, but that can be fixed with a thicker rear sway bar (there are threads here about this if you do a search).
The SC can do nearly all that a Supra can do, but it needs a bit more extra work, so it depends on your choice in style.
Since you are going to swap the engines anyway, I wont go into detail about how strong these engines are.
I beleive SC's are pretty cheap compared to the Supra in the US. Factor in a 2JZ-GTE engine swap and you might still be on top. Or get a SC300 and turbo the existing motor.
Toan.

last night after I had shut down, I remembered that this isnt a rotary car and finding one in ok shape with a dead motor will be hard.
