Converting cornering lights to fog...
Looking for an easier conversion than the accepted relay install.
Can these be used without an overload by tying in to the side marker wiring? I've already put a single #74 led in the side marker, so the draw is way below normal.

After shipping costs, I think it would be near $25 - $30 for two of those leds bulbs. That just about covers most of the parts that would be needed for the relay setup. You'll only have to run a couple more wires over tapping into a power source. I like the relay since it uses the power source as a signal and draws 12 volts from the battery. That way it doesn't draw from the source.

Thanks for good input
Its not the cost, but my lack of ability to follow the relay wiring diagram. I'm looking for an easier fix I can manage. Also, rather than using the marker lights wiring, the DRL wiring might be a better source since its more accessible and is probably a stronger source. I've already put an LED in the DRL's lowering the power draw on that circuit. Am I still chasing a false solution?

still chasing a false solution. The design of the stock cornering lamps limits light ouput to the sides of the vehicle, vs. actual fog lights emit light to the front of the vehicle. simple solution, do a retrofit. I did a retrofit on my 92 SC, and installed 3000k HID's, and havent looked backed once, and even with regular bulbs, I would put money that I have better light output than any of the "faux-fog" conversions with the pre-95 bumpers.
if the cost isnt an issue, find some PIAA or HELLA compact projector fogs, slap in some HID's, make a bracket for mounting, hack up the back of the stock cornering lamps, install, seal them up and be done with all the headache.

No doubt you are right. I only vaguely understand how to do the conversion you are describing. Frankly, its beyond my ability!
When replacing all my interior, marker, and DRL lights with LED's, this idea occurred to me. It wasn't to get actual fog driving lights as much as the look of a constant night time light in those corners. With that in mind, do you think my idea is feasible? Thanks for the help.
