SC Dilemma...
Ok so here is my problem,
I currently own a 1995 black on black 5 speed sc300 with 175xxx miles on it. Although it runs ok there are many things wrong with it:
-Engine eats a bit of oil
-minor dents and dings everywhere!
-body panels misaligned
-needs paint bad
-many little things such as doors not opening from the inside
Now I love this car, or this platform rather, and I intend to build upon it.
Now my question is, should I fix everything up on this car and build it how I want or would it be easier/ more cost effective to buy another SC in excellent condition and do a interior/ transmission swap?
For reference my ideal car would be:
Straight from the factory looking condition
All maintenance up to date
97+ front bumper
Black interior
5-speed
a very reliable 300-350whp to begin with

i think you should stick with the one you have and just fix it up.. itll cost more in the end but youll feel better about it because its somethin you put together yourself

Given that you are looking for that much HP, you're going to need to save your money for performance mods, NOT repair! I think you should start with a "fresh" car that doesn't need as much repair. Interior swaps are a PITA, so you'll do well to find one that's already black. Be aware though, any car with miles is most likely still going to need at least some maintenance.

My basic question is whether or not to pay someone to do all of my bodywork and interior work ( I'm guessing upwards of 2k for sure)
or
just buy a less molested sc and do a 5 speed swap if necessary and dye the interior
and of coarse the proper maintenance and forced induction on either car

If you don't have the necessary skills to do a good portion of it yourself, then I would sell yours and buy a new one. Although finding a 5-spd with black interior probably won't be the easiest task...
Your doors not opening from the inside could be a simple $3 fix...
