I have had a SR20det redtop with a S15 turbo in my S13 240sx,The SR had a 2 stroke like power band. Really quick and rev happy. Now that i am trying to build up my SC300 what is the 1jz like compared to the SR motor? Do they feel anything a like or totally different.???

I can honestly tell you that the swap in the lexus is going to feel way more comfty, but the sr20 is going to feel way faster. I had a sr20 with a gt287ir which was an awesome car to drive(315 whp), but now i have a 2jzgte in a sc300 and that thing is so smooth it feels great. Id prefer something on the luxury side with power.

Completely different feeling in the 2. Like ^^^^ said the 1j is smooth and doesn't feel like an on and off switch when boost kicks in, The power band is nice it always feel like your in boost with stock twins,

1jz:
1. Sounds Better
2. Don't have guys asking "That thing got an SR????" 1000x a day
3. Better bang for the buck
4. Smoother
5. When the motor blows you can slap the head onto a 2j block
6. Revs just as high as an SR
7. Won't spin #3 bearing (in most cases)
8. Awesome happens
I'll add more if found necessary
When it comes to your setup it will feel wicked fast. Put that into an sc it will still be fast but the INITIAL GET GO is where the biggest difference lies. Along with the gearing of the cars as well.
Once you come to the dark side you will not go back. Until you want better gas mileage...
