Tape Player Problem - iPod to Cassette Adapter in '92 sc300
Hey everyone,
This is my first post - love this community here, extremely helpful for our cars.
I've spent the past 2 hours (and time a few months ago, too) searching for an answer to this problem, figuring that there would probably have been a thread already posted... Can't seem to find one, though.
Links to a thread or help would be appreciated!
Here's what's going on:
'92 sc300, stock Lexus head system.. Normal cassettes work and sound great, but when I put in my Philips Tape to Auxiliary (3.5mm jack) cassette, it doesn't read it and goes back to the radio. Any known solutions, or problems?
Thanks so much.

I have a similar problem with mine ... I just stick my finger in the tape player wiggle it around until the tape player starts ... seems like the tape tries to spin but gets stuck and by wiggling it around I fool it into playing ... only problem I have once I get it playing if I hit any bumps it will eject and I have to do it all over again ... kind of a pain in the a$$ ...

I am by no means an expert ... but my guess is that the cheaper tape adapters wheels are getting stuck and not spinning ... which make the tape player think something is wrong ... mine then tries reverse ... then will attempt to eject but by sticking my finger in there it keeps trying until it gets it right ... would like to know a better fix for this though ...

The cassette you're using is the problem. It's actually the inverse, the cheap cassettes work better/ sound clearer than transmitters and 'Philips Tape to Auxiliary. ' coby makes, or it's sold under that name, a cassette adapter. check Walmart or target.
