Default Things to look for when perchasing a SC300

Hey guys, im new to the forums and on the hunt for a manual SC300. I know the usual things to ask and look for when buying a used car, but are there any problem areas i should ask about/look for when buying a SC?

Thanks!

nothing at all, car is pure charm :P

being from ohio id look for rust spots, ac functioning, dash lighting up

engines are solid but ask to see some maintenance records

just anything visual and don't be 2 **** about it, you're purchasing almost 20yr old 'yota after all

Sloppy steering (rack bushings), climate control bleeding, stuck dash needles and those are really the major things for the older models to look for. All can be fixed for sure, but if you find a manual just jump on it. They're getting harder and harder to find now.

Dont know much about the sc300's but I would have to agree with what I have seen here which is the manuals seem to be quite rare.

I am on craigslist and kijiji and autotrader all the time -for years now- and in my area I dont think I have seen more than one or two manual sc300's.

And am I wrong in thinking that sc300's are more rare than the sc400's?

I hardly see any of them for sale whether auto or manual.

And also I have never seen a 97-98-99-00 sc400 or 300 for sale period.

Are these also rare or do people just hang onto them?

Oh and anytime your buying a used vehicle---spend the little bit of money and have your mechanic check it out first--well worth it.

Good luck.
