Angry So I got backed into last night with liability ONLY!

I was backing out of acumberland Farms (convenience store) in a parking lot with more than ample space to do donuts in, when this stoned hippy chick who was parked next to me about 5-10 feet away to the left of me... backs up at an angle towards my car and catches my rear quarter panel on the drivers side and mangles my bumper with a good size dent and some metal cut up.. i was calm at first thinking it was my fault and im s.o.l but then come to realize she was stupid and could have went to her left instead of backing out to her right. or even straight back she'd been safe!!!
In my state there is a law i guess about backing up if both parties are backing up, it will be considered 50/50 at fault: my insurance company and her's both said since we were backing up at the same time, it is going to be hard to prove who is at fault therefore i will have to cover my own damages, and vice versa for her.

I took it to get quotes from 2 auto body places... one pro shop said $2380

and this other shop who has only been in business for 3 years said hes cutting me a deal for $1200

both said the rear bumper cover was 550$ alone from the lexus shop. no getting around that

well if i was gonna paint and put a kit on it, now is the time to do so eh?

PS> Will a 2000 sc400 spoiler fit on a first gen 95 sc400?

The 97 wing will fit a 95. You could always buy a bumper from here or a salvage yard. Have it painted (keep it off the car it will be cheaper) Then put it back on yourself not that hard very easy DIY.

That sucks pics?

Edit: ohhh yeah quarter panel is going to be pricey didnt see that in post only read bumper. Do body kit first Your new shiny body kit will take the attention off your quarter panel haha

That really sucks man! But if you were gonna do paint and a body kit anyway I guess try to do it now if you can. That quarterpanel is gonna be the most expensive part though.

just got off the phone with my insurance company, and they said based on what the other driver has told her company, they aren't looking like they are going to accept that she is at cause and wont cover damages... see, if they found her even 51% at fault, they would have to pay me 51% of the damages.. if its straight 50/50 neither she nor i can collect nothing which is most common for accidents in parking lots here. which is bull since all she got was missing paint off her bumper on the right corner about the size of a volleyball i got pics but thy are on my cell and i dont know how I can get them off of it since I cant email them.. i can only text them.

I'm sorry to hear about that. This would be a good time to get a body kit if you were thinking about getting one. I've heard rear quarter panel damage is the most expensive body repair on these cars. Hopefully it all works out for you.
