Default do i need new struts/shocks?

the previous owner of my car had replaced the shocks/struts about 3 years ago and theres still a lot of life left in em, so i was wondering if i could just get a set of lowering springs and call it a day or do i need new shocks/struts also? they were replaced with KYB GR2 with stock springs. and another thing is that the rear sits a lot lower that the front and im not sure why.

Push down on the car and see if the car oscillates. If it does, then your shocks aren't absorbing. If the car goes down and then goes back to the original position, then they're probably still good. Other than that, you'll have to pull off the shocks to be more definite.

But assuming they're still good, you can go for a mild drop and be fine. Those GR-2s won't handle anything too low.
