Default vin # on a roller with no title

Im looking at buying a 1992 sc300 roller. There is a full vin on the dashboard in the correct spot. But under the hood on the firewall there is a stamp that reads
jzz31-0001824. Also there is a plate on the frame rail giving MODEL ENGINE FRAME NO. COLOR TRIM AND TRANS. The plate looks like it was riveted on. Says it has a 1jz. Any ways does this sound like its jdm or USDM with a riveted on plate. BTW the firewall stamp matches the last 7 numbers on the dash. I only ask this question because I always se the FULL VIN on the firewall. Thanks

JZZ31 is correct chassis code for the SC300 or a base model JDM Soarer. Neither of these came with a 1jz, so it sounds like it is a standard Sc300 that may have been swapped at some point. It is possible that whoever swapped it riveted on the JDM JZZ30 tag to be cool...

I guess the important question is, what side is the steering wheel on?

That's what I was saying. Basicaly looking for someone with a 92 to look at the fire wall on their car and see if they have this stamp. Also I thought jdm vins were 15 digit? I'm reading that the jzz31-0001824 is actualy the chasis no. And not the vin... FYI the plate riveted to the frame has a chassis no. that doesn't match the firewall stamp while the last 7 # on the firewall match the last 7 on the dash...
