FYI
You are probably aware of this, but it's worth mentioning. Check the wheelwell directly below the CD changer and Nakamichi amp for water accumulation. If the plastic water tubes (?) form the gas cap and rear window area get clogged, water will accumulate in the wheelwell and , if the amp gets soaked, it's toast.
That's why you see so many Nak amps for sale.

I'm still on my stock 97 speakers and sub. I just added a pioneer avic-310, alpine amp, 10" alpine sub, and kept the stock sub wired. My car gets plenty of boom but nothing too crazy.

I'm still stock and the only reason I won't upgrade in the SC is that there isn't anything that looks factory. All the aftermarket stuff has a different shade of black and plastic.

I'm still running stock speakers. Unfortunately my CD changer broke But i agree, the sound quality is way better if you compare it to other stock speaker systems.

I still have my factory speakers, but I took out the radio because my CD changer wouldn't stop skipping. I went with one of the new Pioneer double DIN radios and it's so much better, but I do miss my 12 disc CD changer.

I hear that using a CD lens cleaner with the brushes on the bottom will knock the lens out of alignment and kill your CD changer a lot sooner than it would if you left it alone.

Question guys. Cant find where to find it out other than this forum. Is the stock HU a part of the cars computer sytem, like what cadillac does? If its not perfect, if it is how do you wire it so that you can have aftermarket. Cuz i have a JVC touchscreen I'd love tyo throw in one of these with my Alpine type R if I get an SC

While the cd player would occasionally skip, since I put in Eibachs and urethane bushings it skips more. Other than that its fine.

It's not part of the cars ECU or anything. You can put your JVC in with no problems.
