Default might get a SC300 as a commuter car, what kind of mpg does it get?

hey guys hows it goin? I owned nothing but lexus for the past like 5 years or so, I have a RX 300 and an IS 300 and (long story) now I have to drive 2 hours each way to work. Needless to say im beating my IS to death doing this drive. I saw a SC 300 for sale down the road from me and thought about looking into it as a beater car for the commute. I know how to work on the 2jz and thats what these cars have right? More importantly what kind of gas milage do you guys get on the highway?

You'd think someone would have made a website to tell you stuff like this

Yes, they have a 2jz-ge and the gas mileage isn't great, but it is better than the IS

2 hours each way, I'm assuming it's going to be 60+ miles? I commute about
1 hour each way at 35 miles in the Washington, DC area. I burn slightly less
than a quarter tank a day. I usually have to fill up once a week. So I think
you're probably going to be filling up about twice a week or slightly less.
Gas prices around here are a tad less than $3.00 per gallon for premium, so
your at or around $50.00 a fill up. I think you'll be spending $400.00 or
close to that in gas per month. I'm not sure what your budget is, but that
sounds expensive. You can probably just finance a brand new prius, fill up twice
a month, and still have change to spend. Don't get me wrong, I like to see new
SC owners but I'm thinking realistically for you.

When I don't run the air conditioner and leave the windows up I average 30. I use 93 octane and royal purple full synthetic.

drive it like a granny and shift at 2k and you get decent gas mileage. if you have a heavy right foot like me you will notice the needle drop faster

Unfortunately the mpg on our cars isn't that great, you would be better off getting a car that's main feature IS great gas mileage
