That's a really good idea! People sell 5-speeds for way more than the autos, and there really is no point in having a beat up W58 5-speed when you could have a clean SC with an R154/V160 swap instead.

Thats so true! I purchased my SC300 from an older gentleman that claimed it was "adult" driven. Had it for 2 months and come to find out I have some bad syncros I'd just grab a clean auto and r154 swap it. And where in NC are you located? I'm in statesville btw.

In NC, you wouldn't have to get an emissions inspection unless you got a 97+ SC. Swap away.

Actually its any car that is 15 years and older. So 95 and below=no emissions testing
