oh man, you had a problem before you got it lowered? i have eibachs with mine, and of course there's an alignment problem, but i alway get an alignment after 6 months. they say every year, but with 18's, and soon to be 19's... i always do it every 6. was your car involved in a accident before? could be the arms...

Yep, if it was messed up even before you lowered it, there is a big problem there. Have you had your car aligned? They can usually tell you what's wrong with it.

If it's your control arms, you might as well swap the Lexus arms with the Supra TT arms! I can't wait to do that along with the Supra TT shocks & springs.

trudremz16,

Did you get it aligned?

If yes, did the guy say it couldn't be fixed?

You said you 'i had my wheels aligned' but you cannot "align" wheels...only balance them. Not sure what you mean by that.

Just for info.

Alignment = setting the suspension components to aim the wheel in a straight line while keeping the wheel geometry so that the contact patch is square on the ground.

This is not done on the wheel...but on the suspension

Now, the problem with lowering a car is that it takes it out of factory spec. Shops that align your vehicle using a computer, usually set your car BACK to these factory specs.... In Sacramento we have a shop that sets the car by hand and eye to the correct settings for the car as it sits. You may need to find a front end shop that can adjust your car to the correct angles.

Good luck

well ... i did the whole alignment thing
70 bucks or so ... they said that one of the tires was off a little bit
but he put the little red things with points aound the wheel... turned it half way... and then started messing with the suspension
if alignment means gettin the whole tire to sit on the road with 100% contact... thats not me.... cause my inside is wearing like its not heaven.. if u know what i mean
but it might be the control arms...
if it is... would there be a difference with supra control arms compared to the SC 400 arms
not sure what the control arms aspect will help with performance wise

so start explaining if you can
peace

Wheel Alignment is often just the tracking (toe in/toe out), your suspension geometry is checking/resetting the camber, castor, KPI (included angle) and tracking for the front, the rear only has the camber and tracking adjustable.

If these are correctly set to factory specs (at the current ride height) then you should not get abnormal tyre wear.

Although the settings may be correct on the static geometry set-up, once the car is moving If you have worn suspension bushes this will allow the arms/hubs to shift under load and can present abnormal handling and tyre wear, I have just had all the front lower bushes replaced and the steering/handling has dramatically improved.

trudremz16,

I guess I can put it very simply.

If your tires are wearing abnormally, then get the car aligned. If the shop says ALL OKAY, then ask then about the tire wear.

If they say that they can't fix it then your cars suspension is bent or damaged because everyone else doesn't have this issue. If your lower arms are worn they will be able to see that and tell you.

autobot, what 19 width did you get for front and rear? tire size?

i also remember you stating that you got your eibachs cut right? this will help in determing what the problem is
