Finally got an sc400 and so far, i love it. I have gotten tons of jealous comments and turned heads. The only problems with it are passenger door doesn't open, A/C needs recharge, and the radio makes a weird whine that increases with the throttle. Plans for the car for now and fix the problems and I am in the process of the BFI mod. The diy section makes it look so easy but damn i am struggling to block off the part beneath the headlight. Next summer I plan on doing a 5 speed swap, a small drop, wheels, exhaust and some body mods.

overboard with pics? haha

Looks great but the A/C problem could be scary. Be ready to buy a used one. I just got mine and I thought the same thing but when I took it to the Toyota place they said the compressor and evaporator were gone and it would be $3,000 to fix it including parts and labor!!!!! I called my friend at ToyzUnlimited and he did it for me for $470.00.

Well worth it, though. I love the car.

Looks clean dude, its got some imperfections but age obviously shows in most things. Its got the classic burnt out needles and cluster lights BUT your center vent trim is perfect! A lot of em get cracked. But anyway congrats on the pickup!

Dont listen to your locals, the 5spd sc400 swap is very affordable and everyone whose done it here on CL loves it. Research it a bit on here and you'll see for yourself..

Now if only I can figure out how to do it to my '99 without a CEL.

yea, i think im going to go through with it. i want to use a r154 tranny but can't find a plate for it. does it bolt up to the w58 adapter plate?

the car definitely shows its age, just the other day the passenger side "oh ***** handle" broke off and the hood struts are completely shot. soon ill look into a diy for the cluster because i can't see my rpms past 1k and before 4k.

anyway thanks for the comments guys. i love this car
