Worlds Fastest Lexus
I just picked up a mag from the store w/ a SC400 on the front page! SC400 that has ran 1/4 mile in 7.38@186.  And he has upped the HP to close to 1600 w/ 40psi boost looking at running around 6 seconds this year. He use to use the 1UZ but uses a 2UZ from a tundra now.

There are other Fast Lexi out there....
...are you sure that SC4 is faster than Area 51 Fabrication's TT SC300? That will do 0-60 in 1.1 seconds!

Here's a pic of it, from the CL Fontana, CA meet in March 2002:

I don't think my camera has macro mode? It isn't a bad camera I just rushed to get it done, it just didn't want to take properly. I am not sure why its blurry maybe I don't have steady hands.

Phoenix88,
You've gone above and byond the call of duty. Not only did you get the name and issue number but you took a pic of the cover to make it easier to find and buy! Thanks.

JUst curious
I am so curious about why people are interested in a non-street 1000hp SC400?
IF you really examine that car it's nothing NEAR what the original SC400 is. And also it's not like any of us could attain that kind of speed or power and be allowed to drive it on the street.
ON the OTHER HAND.
There are the cars from turboimports.(Clint) who have 800rwhp(1000hp) cars and swift-racing(probably in the same range) that are GOOD OLD regular looking car's that burn the road.
For some reason to me, USABLE power that we could possibly get seems more interesting.
a 7second SC400 is nice..but the Area51 car and that other car are no longer SC400s They're drag racers.
So again why the interest?
a 7 second FULL street car...now THAT would be interesting.

7-second street cars defy physics. It's impossible. With that much torque put to the ground, you require 24-inch wide drag radials, which require that you strip the back seat out and tub the wheel wells. This also requires you to install a rollcage for safety, use 120-octane racing fuel, screw emissions and dump your entire exhaust system, strip the luxo interior because no way you're going to have a nice smooth, quiet, comfortable ride anyway. If you're spending tens of thousands of dollars to drop fractions of seconds, you may as well take the next logical step and drop hundreds of pounds of unneccessary weight by using a fiberglass/carbon shell instead of the steel body panels. Now drop all the other junk like the window motors, AC, power steering, stereo, airbags, powered seats, traction control, etc. Are you beginning to get the point? Streetable? No way. 7-second car would violate sound ordinances, emissions, you'd have to refuel every hour, nothing under the hood would be street legal, and you'd have trouble keeping the engine alive in traffic.
The fascination with a 1600hps drag Soarer is that we have living proof that our engine and chassis can handle that kind of monstrous power (albeit it's the 2UZ, not the 1UZ). Plus we have *more* ammunition against those anti-Lexus skeptics . Ever seen a BMW motor even dream of close to 1000hps?
