Did all SC's have the storage bin insert in the spare tire?
I found one in a junked 92 with the round cover for the spare tire.
My 98 did not have one and I do not think it came with one because the thing that screws into the floor has a long stem on it to where the spare mounts only face up. I scored the short version of the screw thing from the 92.
Anyway, did that bin go away to cut cost or did they just think it was a pretty stupid feature and delete it?
I think it's pretty nice. It can even double as a mini cooler if you put some ice in it. The whole bin has a handle that allows it to lift out so you can dump the water later.

I had a 92, 97, and now a 99 and none of them had a bin insert. They only had those styrofoam blocks on the side with small compartments. Maybe it was from another car that someone threw in there? Pretty cool thing to have though

Actually, it was a stock part which makes it more of a mystery why it was dropped on cars with aluminum spares. The cars with steel spares got the bin, I think.
Finally, got an email back from a dealer I use and they say the short stem to hold down the wheel was for steel wheels only. That's all they would say about the issue. So since there is no way the long stem would work with the bin then....there ya go.
The bin is part number 64771-24020 and expensive as hell....about $75 for a plastic bin that looks like a dollar store item.
The wheel cover thing is not available anymore.
Both are seem below as 64770 and 64773
