With the XXRs, I had about 6 - 7mm lip left on the fender and had no rubbing issues whatsoever in the rear. I was lowered with no gap between the fender and tire. I shaved the fender once again prior to getting the next set of wheels. I left around 2mm of lip on the fenders, may be less. Ride height stayed the same with no rubbing issues in the rear.

The rears are currently 10.5" with 275/35/18 tires mounted. At the current ride height, I think 275s are max without raising.

That looks awesome man! I wanted to try and fit either 10 or 10.5 inches in the rear and 9.5's in the front, but it will depend on the set of SSR's I buy. I've got coilovers now so I might lower my car a little more since my new setup doesn't bounce and rub. Your drop kind of reminds me of Son's SC.

I'd rather pay a shop to get it done professionally.

The fronts are really similar, if not the same. Mine is a bit lower in the rear.

Yea it's just preference. You won't learn unless you try. I prefer to do everything on my car with my two hands.

I thought it did look a little lower in the rear. Mine is about the same as Son's except he lowered the front passenger side just a little bit too low and now my SC is lopsided. It look almost even before it settled and now it's pretty noticeable.

Once I start getting better tools and my own garage, I'll start doing this stuff myself. If you can get a good deal on getting your fenders rolled, I'd say under $80 or so, go with a professional. If not, you could do it yourself if you have access to a fender roller or I guess you could do the baseball bat thing too....

Nice ride man. Wish mine looked that good on 18's.

"cut" or trim the fenders. Is just my opinion.
If you look at post #17 bottom picture. See how the fender curves in?
A bit of the curve is what you want to keep so it still looks original. Make the trim nice and straight (very important). then mask it off and spray black primer on the bare metal edge. It will look clean.

I used a dremmel and a large grinder. The grinder was so much faster but the work area became too hot and begins to damage the paint. just use a dermmel, take your time, and make sure you buy lots of cut off wheels. You'll go through a bunch of them.

This has been talked about extensively before.

I used a porting tool with a mild steel cutting bit to do the heavy work and went back with a flat file to clean up the edges. It didn't take as long as I thought it would take, only about an hour per side.
