made a big boo boo w/pics
sooooo i went to change my outer tie rod ends cuz they were hideous. so i jacked up the passenger side on which i thought was the frame and removed the wheel. couple seconds later, i hear "doom" and the car drops about 6 inches. turns out that i missed the frame about an inch and i jacked it up on plastic next to it. i then proceeded to jack it up properly and finish my tie rods. after i realized i made a decent sized hole on the bottom of the car and on the passenger side floor theres a hump which doesnt look so bad. so my question to u guys is wut would be the best method to fix this problem?

Looks like you can just pull the carpet, hammer the sheet metal flat again, and weld it back down. Or, you can put some seam sealer or a bead of good quality silicone sealer where the joint laps, and then drill and pop rivet it back down. Make sure to seal the rivets if you go that route. Doesn't look like too big a deal to me.

This is just plain frightening.
How do you "miss" by an inch??
DO you even know that you are supposed to lift your car from specific reinforced points along the edge seam and not from the "frame" you were "missing"? Technically, speaking the car has no frame, it's all just sheet metal. That's what uni-body construction is all about.
Bottom line, you got off easy on what could have been a very costly (FATAL) mistake

you are lucky you weren't wrenching under there.
Just peel that carpet back (or not) and go at it with a rubber mallet or hammer.
you can set a flat block of wood on top of it and hit that with the hammer so you don't go too far the other direction or make a big gaping hole.

The factory jack points are along the pinch seam that runs right under the doors at the rocker panel. There are notches on either side of their centers to help you locate them.
You can also get away with jacking from certain strategic areas on the subframes and suspension, but I won't specify where since someone may screw it up and drop a car on themselves.
