Default Can't get bolts of wheels.

So my brakes have been squeaking and I'm almost positive I have to replace the breaks. The only issue is that I cannot for the love of God, get the damn bolts off the wheel. I've applied WD-40 three times, hit the bolts with a hammer, managed to torque the lock out of shape, and they just won't budge.

Does anyone know how to remove the bolts when they won't move at all?

If you cant get the original socket on there try a smaller one. Bang it on with a hammer. If you cant get it on try a 12 point socket that is smaller. If that doesnt work ur gonna have to use some heat. Heat the stud and wheel lock till its bright red then bang on the back of the wheel right parrallel with the stud/ lock ur trying to break off. After a few back kand forth of heat and banging it should snap off. Might do damage to ur wheel this way but worth it to save a buck. lol

Are you getting enough leverage? Try sliding a pipe over whatever you're using to remove the lug nuts. Try a jack handle.

I think you needs to provide a little more info.

Have you been able to take ANY of the lug nuts off?

Are you turning the bolts in the correct direction ?(No offense there, but it does happen)

How were they last tightened on the car ... by hand or pneumatic wrench?

Is there rust involved?

Are you normally strong enough to loosen lugnuts? (again, no offense!)

Sure, this would sound great if it were for an old Massey Ferguson left in the field for 20 years

Jeeez man, it's a Lexus, why not just try an impact wrench and a good 6 point socket before you crack out the torch and hammer?

Haha, no offense taken at all.

When I last attempted this I was able to take off all the bolts on the front left wheel except for the one with the bolt-key thingy. That thing WOULD NOT MOVE. It turns out I had a knock-off bolt-key that got stripped so I went to the dealership and got a proper one. That one is also stripped, but it still fits in ok.

There's no rust that I know of.

They were last treated using the pneumatic wrench.

I've been turning them counter-clockwise (left).

I've changed tires before using a combination of jumping on the tire iron and pulling/pushing with my hands and body.

I'll check and see if my one neighbor has one. If not, I'll take it to a mechanic and have him loosen the bolts and then hand tighten them.

This is probably how things got stripped/twisted. When you do this, you're much more likely to force the wrench off axis (sideways) and roll off the bolt heads. Much better to get a longer lever arm to increase the force, than it is to jump on it.

lol for some reason this thread cracked me up--

yes man by jumping on your tire iron you may have bent or overtightened them or something lmao

just go to any local mechanic and offer him 20 bucks

dont bring out the heat and stuff yet ---your much more likely to damage something if your not experianced----looks like you are dangerous enough with the tire iron lol

good luck my friend

Like I said before, heat is def. the last option. Your best bet is to go to a mechanic shop and ask them to take off the lug nuts youy cant get. They might do it for free + a tip. lol

dont take it to a mechanic enless your a girl. just soak it with pb blaster, get more leverage with a cheater pipe over your ratchet( should be useing a breaker bar). if you dont have the strength put a jack underneath the tire iron or whatever your using to turn it counterclockwise

Def get a breaker bar or a big alum pipe, every foot is 10lbs of torque so if they had 50lbs of pneumatic wrench you need a five foot pipe to hang on lol.
