how much should I cut my springs

Default how much should I cut my springs

I just picked up a set of ALT wheels 18x8+45 im wondering how much i should cut my springs Im thinking 1 1/2 coils? does this sound like a good enough cut? or should i just do 1 coil?
the'll be going on my s400

uummm how about you dont cut anything and buy proper suspension...just a thought.



btw those wheels will be sunken in...

Don't cut your springs, its a lexus man. Cutting your springs on track cars and stuff like that is fine but just spend the $200 on some lowering springs. Cut springs **** up your struts.

Ive never in my life cut springs before i know better but im broker then **** and dont wanna drive my car around without it being lower I would only be driving it on cut springs till december...

....its bad enough the the rims will be tucked but then to cut the springs and dump it???? its gonna look like a toy car lol... i hope u make the right decision and buy lowering springs...

doesnt matter. if you're going to do something, do it right. Just wait until you have enough money.

Or sell sunken wheels, buy coilovers, save up for proper fitting wheels.

if i do just go ahead with springs whats a good spring that will give me 1 1/2'' i was looking at tanabe on ebay but unfortunetley they dont state how much of a drop theyll give..


I seen dx3's wheel specs didnt look to bad i guess now i have to think about spacers

im still not sure what year supra i would be looking for and heres a link to some megans so if im on the right path my xbox and games are going on ebay and im picking these up asap

you want suspension for a 93-98 MK4 Supra, so yes the coilovers you posted there will work. I am so glad everyone talked you out of cutting your springs. Please just do it right, keep your SC clean and SAFE. Keep us posted.
