Default 95 SC400 with 225xxx miles.

Should i put money into the car or should i sell and get one with less miles?
It has the check engine light one jumped codes and got a 13. Also got the SRS light one i have no idea why. Also the trac off light is on because i recently checked if the connector was connected in the center council but i was no were to be found have to do some more digging. I was wondering if i should put money into the car or just get another one with less miles?

The guy I traded my mustang for said that the owner before him rebuilt the engine, but he didn't have proof. He said that the owner told him his girl lost the receipt.

LOL these seem like simple problems. Take the time to diagnose them, and figure out what needs to be done. A 1uz is capable of lasting north of 400k miles.

I bought mine with 207,xxx knowing mine was going to need some work just because it's got the platinum paint (Which I've yet to see another in my area) and a full black interior. Thing is, you know your car. You're going to sell it for less than what you're going to get for another one with lower miles. So there's more of your own cash out of your pocket that could be put into making your current car all awesome and whatnot. Besides, you go through all of the mess to get a car with lower miles and you've spent all that money and you could end up with more problems and a mystery than a lower mileage car based on what problems the previous owner was trying to hide just so he could sell it to you. Just my 2 cents, but stick with the car you know.

Interesting,

considering my 1uz only has 143000 original kms I should have a few years of fun left.

Yeah, I mean i just ordered new headlights because the ones it had were turning yellow. Also it has a body kit that isn't the best looking thing, but I can get both rear and front bumper for 250. I also tried to get it smogged today but i couldn't because of the traction control. Does anyone know how to get the codes for the trac? Also the idiot that had it before me put 22's on it. i will post a pic later.

Check for rust and have a mechanic take a look at it before you even think about modding it. If its beyond your mechanical abilities, its not worth it and WILL turn into an expensive nightmare

Have someone experienced give you a quote on the repairs. If the price is $1,000+ do an engine swap. I'd also check on your suspension components. If the previous owner had heavy *** 22" wheels, they probably did a beating to your ball joints and such. Inspect the exhaust and possible rust around the vehicle. I hope you got a seriously good deal on it. Best of luck and let us know what you decide to do.

My SC300 has 206xxx on it and runs and drives smooth as hell. I have a check engine light and trac off light. Its the speed sensors. Check your codes using the tutorial posted on the forum. Simple tuneup and your engine should easily last to 300 +
