I say if your feeling funny about the trade do some research first, BTW how many miles on the 97? how miles on the 1jz? If I had a 97 (I wish!) and had a opp to trade for a 95 5 speed 1jz I would consider it IMO! depending on what the trade in-tales ..........

Well consider this. You like the 97 likely for the body. You like the 95 for the motor. It costs about the same to drop a 1j in a car as it does to upgrade to the 97+ body. However, I would argue that the body modification is significantly easier labor wise. So either you can get that 95 and throw on a 97 body or keep the 97 and throw in a 1j and you'll end up at the same place- difference is what's your prefence in getting there?

not so much just me but the other half want me too. i have to consider the fact if i put the 97 in the shop for the swap i have no car to drive . but if i take the 95 all i have todo is swap the front bumper and the tail lights and hit it with a paint job and im good . i wanted some outside input and im getting what i was hoping for . we'll definitely see what happens on sun . i am very interested and it wouldnt be a big issue to keep the 95 on ther for awhile i'd def want the 97+ tails tho. and the 97 has 247,xxx

i'd keep the car and swap the 1jz myself. i've heard plenty of horror stories from people picking up swapped cars and either the motor is bad, wiring sucks, or some other little problem they had no idea about.

agree with keeping car and swapping 1j. 1j is relatively cheap to swap
