What was the oil level? Could you read it on the stick? How hot did it get? Just a little high on the needle or did you bury it? Need more info.....

I'm not following why you are assuming failed oil pump

Was your cooling system working properly? (ie. coolant level, fanbelt, radiator, thermostat, hoses, etc.)

As was was mentioned above, oil level!!!

Engine tune (ie.timing)

Start with the most likely culprits before you start chasing more obscure failures like an oil pump.

i recently had got an oil change. about 2 weeks ago. it read full. i pull the stick out and the stick itself was steaming! i just had the pulleys re aligned ..new timing belt..water pump..distributor coils..plugs/wires..and new radiator. the cooling system was working fine. it was full of antifreeze.

smoke was coming more from the driver side of the engine...right around the oil area. i took the cap off of the oil and it was steaming yesterday. but i went outside to crank the car today and it started up. kind of hesistated a tad but after all pulleys were engaged it ran fine. it sat about a minute and i started noticing smoke (black) out of the driver side tail pipe a little. not much. so i immediately turned off the car.. idk what it could be

a neighbor next door said that it seemed i had a bad oil pump. thats only reason why i said that. but i didnt hear any ticking or knocking so i doubt the headers are bad.
