Default What Headers should I get for a 98 SC400?

Alright well insurance is paying for a new engine for me due to ingesting some water in my engine, with all the flooding we have in Texas. Since the engine is going to be out anyway, this is the perfect time for me to get some headers and maybe a torque converter as well. I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are with regards to the S&S or IMF and what you think the differences are. I need to get rolling if I am going to order some headers so keep it coming quickly. Thanks for everyone's help with this in advance, and if you have any you need to get rid of PM me.

I don't want to get off topic, but I was wondering if you were in the DFW area since you mentioned it flooding?

No I live in Round Rock, just north of Austin. We got over 13 inches of rain here. Not good for a lowered SC. So does everyone thing that the IMF headers are the way to go? What are the long tube headers people are talking about and where would I find those?

I have some IMF headers that I'm going to install soon. You missed a group buy a few weeks ago. Got them for a great price.

Since the ins. co is paying for a motor, 2jgte. Even if you left it stock for a while, your overall cost would be minimal: harness mod being the most expensive.

Already thought about that. They are buying me a used motor with 30K less than mine has on it and paying for the labor. I can't put the 2JZ in without spending a ton of money as the 400 is infinately harder than the 300. I have the Luxury of knowing quite a few people in town including the old owner of Boost Logic, who told me that if would get out of control in the 400 pretty quick. So just looking to get some headers and keep it the awesome daily driver that it is

Right on man! Stay with the 400. Gotta get more 98+ v8 guys modding as much as they can. Love the car by the way. You got a sweet look going there. That was the look I wanted when b4 I found my platinum.

I have the S&S headers & love them. Unfortunely unless you find someone selling a used set, they are not available. I have not checked with PPE Engineering to see if have them now, or how quick there gonna have them. So if you want to do it now, the IMF & Rush are your only choice.
