Yea, that's definitely an example of a bad blow.

This happened to me a few months back but I was on Falken ST115's. I found out my front wheels have corrosion and one started to leak. It lost pressure and exploded on the highway just like that. I was running 215/35/19's on a 8.5"w wheel. I'm getting my wheels repaired over the winter and plan on running 225's instead.

that looks like a bad blow out---glad your okay and your rim looks fine also.

happened to me once but i had it coming----tire had a bulge and was going bald-----my fault all the way-----although it just blew a whole in the side of the tire-----didnt do what yours did.

I wonder if those tires are faulty in some way.

I personally haven't used them but my buddy did back in high school. They are just cheap tires. I'd say if your not driving a lot or aggressive or on the track they'll do fine. Just don't expect much.

My set of wheels I bought for my car when I was 20 had nankang NS-IIs. They lasted 30k miles. Can't complain

Happened to my brother's 2GS. They were cheap @$$ tires tho so we blame it on that hahahaaa. Not sure what the exact cause is either. It also blew on the outside wall not the inside ones. Probably improper tire pressure?

thanks justin and klaus

ive had 20 inch nankangs on my car for about 10 000 kilometres and one of them developed a bulge in them with nearly 100 percent thread left almost right away---i replaced that one and now two of them have a leak----one of them a very agressive leak.

i guess its a roll of the dice with these NANKANGS.

Made in china----i should of expeced this.

Hey 1WILLY1: You guys use kilometers in New York? Just wondering... I would have thought you would put it in miles coz its US standard.

Agreed on the dice roll- for a luxury cruiser, sure I'd use them. For a performance car? No way, tires are a safety item and unlike spark plugs that is an area that you can max out and get a benefit
