Default exhaust tips

anyone know what options there are for changing out the factory tips? Can they be unbolted? Looks to me like they are crushed on to the muffler or something. I just want to put some polished or chrome tips on the stock mufflers.

^^^agreed. The shop I got my tips from cut off the old one and welded on some 4.5" tips (I think thats the size).

It actually fills the cutouts of my vertex rep rear lip well. I would assume it would do the same for your shine kit.

This way you do not have to worry about the screw loosening up later on and possibly falling off

I think I paid like $70 total for it to be welded on

I wanted to change the tips, and bring them closer the the bumper. Instead of changing/modifying the hangers, I had the shop cut the piping flush at the muffler exit, crush bend a piece that would put the tips sitting where I wanted it, then had them weld it in place. I'm happy for now, until I'm ready for a full exhaust down the road.

Here are some pictures. Cars is pretty dirty, haven't been washed in 2 months. The driver side is a lil off they couldn't get it straight. I think its the lip cutouts that are off.

If they're just tips, why don't you just get cheap bolt on ones? It's not going to make your car any louder or any better just because the tips are welded on. I guess i'm ranting, but i'm just happy i spent 20 bucks on tips and they work just fine for me. Lol. No welding required.

So to get the factory ones off you have to hammer them off?
