Default I Wanna Relocate Battery To Trunk ?

For those of you that have moved your battery to the trunk what have you guys done ? Buy a relocator kit or just buy cables and ends ? Also how did u guys run the cables and secure them under the car ? I am looking to make some more room in the engine bay but I dont want to buy a 100-200 dollar battery relocator kit it if can basically do this on my own. All input would be appreciated AND pics as well if you got them

You can do it the easy way and the right way. Easy run 2 2 gauge wires to the trunk from the stock location. Right way is to run 4 wires all 2 gauge Fusebox, Alternator, Starter, Ground and have a electric cut off switch so you will need a standalone fuse for the alternator.
The things that are crossed off are thing I have deleted on my car so just ignore them.

Really unless if you are running IC piping in the way I would just get a smaller battery like Odyssey PC680 Dry Cell Battery.

lol, you might just want to do it the easy way two 2 gauge wires both running the the battery terminal hook ups with the terminals off. Just don't try getting into a NHRA drag track and racing with it.

Probably need 2-15footers....

1sicksc: I'm trying to understand your diagram there. Not that I am planning to relocate but I have relocated batteries in the past during my younger days with previous car(s). I've always done it the "easy way" (run 2 wires to the back). Its true what they say that we learn every single day and this is new to me. I do would like to put cut off switch and all that. Would it be possible for you to post some actual pix of how you did yours?

Thanks!

No problem... 15ft is generous considering the length of the car from where the original battery is to the trunk is probably almost 7-8feet already. It will give you enough allowance just in case you have to wrap to tight corners then across to the other side of the car for a "clean" install. Its better long than you having to splice those together when you come short

So 1 (2 gauge) wire from + to the trunk and another 2 gauge wire from the - to the trunk? This is the easy way right?

Does the batter usually get in the way of the intercooler piping on boosted SC's?

I will do it this weekend and if you have a GTE swaped SC or a FFIM then yes the battery could get in the depending on different variables. I am doing it in prep for a FFIM and a little of weight distr. as well as a bit of aesthetic

For the relocate I thought you would just take the ground and attach it to the chassis run a positive to the back and ground the battery to the chassis using 0 or 1 gauge also buy a battery with a higher cca. Correct me if im wrong im also planning to do this.
