Before I head off to the dealership to find what the problem is and at what cost.
Has anyone had problems with their driver side door lock not activating properly (locking or unlocking),
whether using the keyless entry remote or the interior doorside console button?
The passenger side door works just fine at either application.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how to fix it, if possible?

Try this simple procedure, you may be lucky.
Pull the handle and at the same time, push the power door lock/unlock button. After that done, try to lock/unlock as normal to see if it works. Otherwise, the cable probably just came off. Open up the panel and put it back. I am assuming you still get the power from the button (still make the sound but nothing moves). .

A friend of mine with an SC400 had the same problem, and some water had SOMEhow gotten into his door lock system. all he needed to do was open it up, get all the moisture out, and that was that. hopefully it helps.
