Could be a bad bulb or ballast. You can check the bulb by swapping the good bulb with the bad one...if the good bulb doesn't work, then the ballast might be dead. If the bad bulb doesn't work with the good ballast, then the ballast is dead.

This is what I'm talking about when buying a QUALITY HID system. Not all HID systems are the same. Most of the stuff you see out there, especially ones with FAKE ratings like 8000K (does not exist) are usually 99% of the time JUNK. It's worth to spend some more money and get the quality kits.

Now you can try to contact the company to see if they'll warranty it...that is, if there is even any company information on the box (many of the cheap companies don't put their contact info on the box...that should be the FIRST warning sign!)

As for the moisture in the turn signal, that should not have cause the problem. The SC's projector is contained in it's own housing...

Isn't Philips one of the original HID manufacturers? I've heard some good things about that kit.

Chris

PS. Ha, the truth is out. Jeff is cheap. LOL.

Jeff - The 8000K color rating is non-existant. Any HID bulb that is NOT CLEAR is just putting out LESS light. 4100K is the brightest, 6000K is about 20% dimmer. If you got it as a gift, I guess you can't complain!

You can try getting a replacement Ballast from another vendor like AutoLamps-online.com. They MIGHT have one that will work with your bulb. Honestly, I would trash that whole system and get a quality one from AutoLamps (the special will end this month so if you want in, get it now)...The 6000K looks more like OEM HID's in terms of color since it's a whiter/purplish color...the 4100K is brighter more it has a LIGHT yellowish hue in the SC's projectors. If you go into the GROUP BUY section (under Classified), you'll see my review...lotsa pictures...disregard the first pictures...they were VERY underexposed...so it looks weak...check out the later photos.

Currently, I'm running the AutoLamps 6000K kit and I like it. Worth getting. The 4100K also works great.

Your SC looks nice with that Wald kit! Do it some justice and install QUALITY HID's!

Only buy Philips, they are the unequivocal best HID manufacturer on the planet, bar none. 8000K exists, but is only made and sold by the crappiest of the the crap *** companies in the world. Most are no-named b-companies that lie and brand their bulbs Philips, Osram, Hella (even though Hella doesn't make bulbs), etc. If you want an HID kit, Autolamps' customer service, industry experience, knowledge, and prices are second to none. They are the only online vendor in the world that is endorsed by Philips themself, which tells you something. 4100K if you want the best performance, 6000K if you want color.

I don't understand where this 6000K = color has come from? I have 6000K and the bulb is perfectly clear, when the unit warms up it is a perfect white light. The only color I get is when the unit is warming up and that is barely a blue.

Compare a 4100K and 6000K bulb in the same car, one will be white, and the other will be bluish. I believe Manaray has some comparison pics for you in his Autolamps install thread.

I bought a set from Autolamps. It's not blue at all. It's purple. Looks very OEM, the road is lit up beautifully. Don't settle for less.

This color thing is getting ridiculous.

The color scale is not setup so that a HIGHER number is necessarily BETTER. It just changes COLOR. The number = COLOR not brightness or power.

Some typical color temperatures are:

1500 k Candlelight
2680 k 40 W incandescent lamp
3000 k 200 W incandescent lamp
3200 k Sunrise/sunset
3400 k Tungsten lamp
3400 k 1 hour from dusk/dawn
5000-4500 k Xenon lamp/light arc
5500 k Sunny daylight around noon
5500-5600 k Electronic photo flash
6500-7500 k Overcast sky
9000-12000 k Blue sky

I researched this subject and found that 6000k or there about is the BEST color. So why the heck would someone want 'Overcast' looking color lamps?

Do-Luck, yes the GB is on until the end of July.

As for 4100K vs. 6000K, I think you'll like the 6000K better. I have been using it for the past month or so and it's been doing great. I do miss the additional light output of the 4100K though...but it's just SO MUCH better than before, I can't really complain either way...

The 6000K does have a purplish hue (not blue) but now that I've been running them for a while, they look pure white. I don't notice the light purple...

As for 8000K, Lex400SC, those aren't "real"...they're made up using coatings from what I've seen...who makes a true uncoated 8000K bulb?

pcmw - Thanks for that list...also, the lumens actually goes DOWN after 4100K when it comes to HID's...6000K is 20% dimmer than 4100K...so when people talk about how much BRIGHTER their 8000K's are...are you can do is ...
